Centenary Closing 101-Hour-Long Meditation (YSS Dakshineswar Ashram, March 2018)

To commemorate the closing of the Centenary Year celebrations of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) in March 2018, a 101-hour-long meditation was conducted at YSS Dakshineswar Ashram from March 17 to 21, 2018.

Special arrangements were made at Dakshineswar Ashram to facilitate the long meditation for devotees. Brahmachari Achyutanandaji led the opening session of the meditation - starting at 6 am on March 17 - with the Yogoda meditation technique of energization exercises, the opening prayer and chanting. In the sessions that followed, various monastics led the meditation sessions.

On each day of this special long meditation, there were two half-hour breaks from 8 to 8.30 am and from 5 to 5.30 pm. After the first break in the morning, energization exercises were conducted, and after the evening break, energization exercises and arati were conducted. Participating devotees were also served meals; and refreshments including tea, biscuits and fruits were also made available to them.

Swami Suddhanandaji led the final session of the long meditation, which came to a conclusion at 11.30 am on March 21, 2018 with the performing of healing prayers, closing prayer, and distribution of prasad to all participating devotees.

Around 100 devotees attended the closing of the meditation, and many devotees stayed at the Dakshineswar ashram to derive spiritual benefits from this YSS Centenary Closing long meditation.

The experience of one of the attendees is shared here:
